How to Grow Juicy Tasty Tomatoes – a Book Review
Growing tomatoes is a lifelong passion for me. I not only love growing tomatoes I also enjoy reading everything I find about them. I’m always buying different gardening books for my reference library, but lately I have been narrowing down my search for books that are entirely about just growing tomatoes. I’ve been looking for a book for ages that was complete guide on tomato growing, a book that covered every aspect of growing tomatoes.
In my search I did find a few books that were solely about how to grow tomatoes. After browsing and reading through them, I came across a couple books that I found very interesting.
The one book I would like to review is a book written by Annette Welsford. How to Grow Juicy Tasty Tomatoes. To my delight this book covered everything. The book is divided into two parts.
The first part is perfect for the complete novice. It’s called Quick Start and it gives simple step by step instructions accompanied with illustrated photographs. It makes it easy for the beginner to follow.
The second part is your reference section and is a detailed 65 pages of every aspect of growing tomatoes. Both novice and seasoned gardeners will find invaluable information here.
I was also surprised by the free bonuses that accompanied the book.
- Our Family Tomato Cookbook
- Huge Varieties Database
- Common Problems Ready Reckoner
- Growth Stage Cultivation Guide
- Conversion Guide
- Tomato Growing Diary
In my opinion How to Grow Juicy Tasty Tomatoes is one of the best resources I’ve found for information on growing tomatoes.
What I liked is that the 80 pages are packed full of quality in-depth information and illustrations and is a wealth of knowledge.
The Tomato Varieties Database one of the bonuses gives you complete access to a website that has growing information for over 1300 heirloom and hybrid tomatoes.
Some of the topics covered in the book:

So you can see that the book covers just about anything you need to know about growing tomatoes.
I purchased my copy of the book in a PDF format which I found very easy to read. The advantage of the the PDF format is that if you are reading it on your computer The Table of Contents is clickable which makes finding what you are looking for very easy.
I also liked the fact that I could download the PDF file onto my ipad along with the rest of my gardening library so that I can take it with me where ever I go. Nothing like carrying a few hundred books in your bag.
Some of you might think that the price is a little high for an e-book version of How to Grow Juicy Tasty Tomatoes but with the amount of information and all the useful bonuses and not to forget your full access to the Tomato Varieties Database website, I personally feel that this book is well worth the money in the long term.
